Materials & Grades We Supply
Every material family we deal in, with the grades buyers ask for most — cross-referenced to UNS numbers, EN / Werkstoff numbers and the ASTM / ASME specifications we supply against.
One Metal, Many Names
The same alloy carries different designations around the world. Our tables list the common ones side by side, so you can match your drawing or spec sheet to what we stock.
- ASTM / ASMEAmerican product standards — e.g. A312 TP316L for stainless pipe, SB-165 for Monel 400 pipe. ASME "SA/SB" mirrors ASTM for boiler & pressure-vessel work.
- UNS NumberThe Unified Numbering System — one letter and five digits, e.g. S31603, N04400, C11000 — identifies the alloy itself, independent of product form.
- EN / W.Nr.European standards use a material ("Werkstoff") number and a name, e.g. 1.4404 / X2CrNiMo17-12-2 for 316L. Common on European drawings and MTCs.
- IS (BIS)Indian Standards — e.g. IS 1239 and IS 3589 for steel pipes, IS 2062 for structural steel — widely used on domestic projects.
Equivalents shown as "≈" are the nearest matching grades, not exact substitutes — chemistry and testing limits differ slightly between standards. Material is always supplied and certified against the specification on your order, with the mill test certificate to match.
